HomeMy WebLinkAboutPP-RNG Communications_7-12-19RNG Communications Josh Newman & Laura Keir July 12, 2019 1 Objectives: Provide consistent, transparent, and relevant information to the Eugene-Springfield community regarding the RNG project, including safety information for neighbors of the treatment plant. Build community support for the MWMC’s RNG project. Improve community awareness of the MWMC’s resource recovery efforts using RNG as a primary example, to elevate the MWMC as a local leader in protecting the environment. Coordinate with partners – including NW Natural and the off-taker – so that project messaging is compatible. Communications Plan Goal: Increase community awareness and support for the MWMC’s RNG project, including its environmental and financial benefits. 2 Project Overview: The MWMC is embarking on an exciting project to turn biogas–a byproduct of the wastewater treatment process–into renewable natural gas (RNG). Producing RNG is a win for the community and the environment. Contact with Community Members: For general information about the RNG project, direct people to the MWMC website: www.mwmcpartners.org/rng. You can also use the attached talking points.
