Commissioner Cross called the Committee for Citizen Involvement to order at 6 p.m. 1. Commercial Industrial Buildable Lands (CIBL) Stakeholder Committee Update City of Springfield Staff recently received a recommendation from the Future Committee (Subcommittee of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce) to include two additional representatives on the Stakeholder Committee: “Commercial Developer” representative and a “Retail Industry” representative. Over the past two months, Staff has coordinated Stakeholder Committee recruitment with the Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI). The purpose of the Stakeholder Committee is to provide ongoing guidance of key assumptions and review of information made throughout the process. DSD Staff met with the Future Committee on April 11th, 2008 to present an update on the Commercial Industrial Buildable Lands (CIBL) project. After reviewing the Stakeholder list, the Future Committee made a recommendation to the City of Springfield that the CIBL Stakeholder Committee include a “Commercial Developer” representative and a “Retail Industry” representative. City Staff have discussed this recommendation with the consultant, ECONorthwest, and are now forwarding this recommendation to the CCI for approval. Ms. Pauly indicated that she was substituting for David Reesor, who was conducting a public workshop. She said the nominations for those positions were Steven Yett, Paramount Center LLC, as the Retail Industry representative and Doug McKay, McKay Commercial Properties LLC, as the Commercial Developer representative. She briefly described their backgrounds and said both would provide an excellent perspective on the community. Ms. Pauly said the Stakeholder Committee had a very successful first meeting and would meet again on May 22. Commissioner Leezer, seconded by Commissioner Moore, moved to add Doug McKay and Steven Yett to the CIBL Stakeholder Committee. The motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Cross adjourned the Committee for Citizen Involvement at 6:48 p.m. (Recorded by Brenda Jones and Transcribed by Lynn Taylor) Minutes Approved by Springfield Planning Commission: December 2, 2008
