DATE OF WORK SESSION: December 15th, 2009
COMMITTEE FOR CITIZEN
TO: Committee for Citizen Involvement INVOLVEMENT TRANSMITTAL
MEMORANDUM
FROM: David Reesor, Senior Transportation Planner
SUBJECT: Transportation System Plan (TSP) Stakeholder Advisory Committee Roster
ISSUE: Staff is in the final process of recruiting members to serve on the Transportation System Plan (TSP)
Stakeholder Committee. The purpose of the TSP Stakeholder Committee is to provide ongoing guidance
related to key assumptions, and to make recommendations to Springfield decision makers and elected
officials. Staff will present a roster of names selected to fill committee membership categories.
DISCUSSION: During the October 6th, 2009 work session, the Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI)
reviewed and approved the Springfield TSP Citizen Involvement Plan, which included a list of Stakeholder
Committee membership categories. At present, Staff has recruited 11 individuals to represent separate
categories, as shown in Attachment 1. These names are proposed by Staff, but must be approved by the CCI
to become final. As shown in Attachment 1, three membership categories remain unfilled at this time. The
recruitment effort will continue for these remaining vacant positions until filled. Staff will present these final
names to the CCI for approval once they are filled.
As part of the recruitment process, Staff solicited applicants to fill two citizen-at-large positions. Staff received a
total of four citizen-at-large applications by the application closing date. These names include: Meg Kieran,
Richard Hunsaker, Ronna Frank, and Tim Vohs. Upon reviewing all four applications, Staff recommends
placing Richard Hunsaker in the “developer” category and allowing all three remaining applicants to serve on
the Committee as “citizens-at-large.” This will bring the total to 14 members once all remaining categories are
filled, and will allow all four applicants to participate on the Committee.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the CCI review and approve the Stakeholder Advisory
Committee roster as described in this memorandum and supporting attachments.
ACTION REQUESTED: The CCI is requested to review and approve, not approve, or approve with
modifications, the proposed Stakeholder Advisory Committee roster.
