HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 05 City Project P11008 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY Meeting Date: 1/22/2019 Meeting Type: Regular Meeting Staff Contact/Dept.: Jeff Paschall/Public Works Staff Phone No: 726-1674 Estimated Time: Consent Calendar S P R I N G F I E L D C I T Y C O U N C I L Council Goals: Maintain and Improve Infrastructure and Facilities ITEM TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT P11008, SPRINGFIELD CITY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE AND SECURITY UPGRADES ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt or reject the following resolution: A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P11008, SPRINGFIELD CITY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE AND SECURITY UPGRADES ISSUE STATEMENT: The work on this project has been completed by Ausland Group, Inc. and final inspection, paperwork and approval has been completed by City Staff. The Project is now ready for formal City Council acceptance of the work. ATTACHMENTS: 1. Resolution DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT: This project consisted of modifications creating a new suite for three staff members in the City Attorney’s Office and enhanced security and access control at the City Manager’s Office and the NW and SE Quads of Development and Public Works. Work included demolition, framing of walls and openings, installing windows and doors, drywall and finishing, countertop fabrication, painting and cleanup. This project has been completed and is in use with the final cost coming in at $109,822.00. All work done under this contract has been completed and inspected by the Building Official and City Engineer and found to be satisfactory. Attachment 1 RESOLUTION NO. _______ Acceptance WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been duly inspected by the Building Official of the City of Springfield: P11008 SPRINGFIELD CITY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE AND SECURITY UPGRADES, and WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the contract now on file in the City Recorder’s office; and, WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this improvement project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of Springfield. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1) The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvement from the contractor involved. 2) This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor. Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, this 22nd day of January 2019.
