AN ORDINANCE levying assessments for grading and graveling of the alley
between F Street and G Street extending from Eighth Street to Ninth Street in
the City of Springfield, and declaring an emergency:
THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the total cost of improving the alley between F Street
and G Street extending from Eighth Street to Ninth Street in the City of
Springfield by grading and graveling said alley is the sum of Six Hundred
Twenty Eight and 98/100 Dollars ($628.98) and the Common Council of the said
City hereby ascertains and determines said sum to be the cost of said improve-
ment and the said cost and the said sum hereby are assessed against the real
property hereinafter in this ordinance described.
Section 2. That there is hereunto attached and by reference incorporated
in and made a part of this ordinance as assessment plan designated as "ASSESS-
LENT PLAN FOR IMPROVEMENT BY GRADING & GRAVELING OF THE ALLEY BETWEEN F STREET
AND Cr STREET EXTENDING FROM EIGHTH STREET TO NINTH STREET IN SPRINGFIELD, LANE
COUNTY, OREGON", and the City Recorder of said City of Springfield is hereby
authorized and empowered to attach a copy of said assessment plan to the City
Lien Docket for reference purposes.
Section 3. That the Common Council of said City of Springfield hereby
does determine and assess each lot, part of lot or acreage property abutting
upon and benefitted by said improvement, the owner or reputed ownere thereof
being as named, and all said property being in the said City of Springfield
as follows, to-rit:
Rosboro Lumber Co. - Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 104, except
the South 45 feet, of the S. I. P. Cots Addition - Fifty
Eight and 35/700 Dollars - $58.35
Rosboro Timber Co. - South 45 feet Lots 1, 2 and 3,
Block 104 of the S. I. P. Cots Addition - Thirty Six
and 01/100 Dollars - 36.01
George W. and Malinda A. Calvert - Lot 4 and East 21.33
feet Lot 5, Block 104 of the S. I. P. Cots Addition -
Fifty Two and 47./100 Dollars - 52.141
Glenn and Marion Platt - West 10.67 feet Lot 5, Lot 6,
and East 10.67 feet Lot 7, Block 104, of the S. I. P.
Cots Addition - Fifty Two and 41/100 Dollars - 52.1.1
George W. and Malinda Calvert - West 21.31 feet Lot 7,
Lot 8, Block 1011 of the S. I. P. Co+s Addition -

and 13, Block 104 of the S. I. P. Co's Addition -

Section Lt. That the Common Council of the City of Springfield does deter-
mine that each lot, part of lot or acreage property hereinbefore described is
specifically benefitted to the extent of the assessment hereinbefore set forth
and does hereby declare each and all of said assessments to be liens upon the
respective lots, parts of lots, acreage property and tracts described against
which said several amounts are assessed and orders and directs the City Re-
corder to enter in the Docket of City Liens a statement thereof containing:
1. A description of each lot, part of lot or acreage property
for such improvement sufficient for identification.
2. The name of the owner or reputed owner thereof or that the
owner is unknown.
3. The sum assessed upon such property and the date of entering
the same in the Docket of City Liens.
Section 5. The Common Council hereby determines and declares said lots,
parts of lots or acreage property and tract to be liable for the cost of im-
provement as aforesaid. The Common Council further determines and declares
that any number of lots, parts of lots and acreage property owned by arty
one person or jointly by two persons shall be and they hereby are assessed to-
gether and any such part shall be liable for the assessment against the whole
so owned by any such person or persons jointly.
Section 6. The Common Council of the City of Springfield hereby adjudges
and declares that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace,
health and safety of the said city that this ordinance shall take effect immed-
lately upon its passage by the said Common Council and approval by the Mayor
of the s aid City of Springfield and the said Common Council does hereby adjudge
and declare that an emergency exists and that this ordinance shall take effect
and become operative and be in full force and effect from and after its pass-
age by the said Common Council and its approval by the Mayor of the said City
of Springfield.
