GENERAL ELECTION REPORT OF BOARD OF CANVASSERS
AND PROCLAMATION
ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve the November 8, 2016 General Election Report of Board of Canvassers and Proclamation for the election of Springfield Utility Board members for Position
#2, Position #3 and Position #4, and City Measure #20-296, Fix Springfield Streets.
ISSUE STATEMENT:
The City Attorney has forwarded for City Council approval, the Report of Board of
Canvassers and Proclamation for the November 8, 2016 General Election for the election of Springfield Utility Board members for Position #2, Position #3 and
Position #4, and City Measure #20-296, Fix Springfield Streets.

We, the undersigned, constituting the City Council of the City of Springfield, a
Municipal Corporation of the State of Oregon, Lane County, Oregon, acting as a Board
of Canvassers, hereby certify that we have received and reviewed the Certified Abstract
of Results dated November 6, 2018, from the Lane County Clerk for the General
Election held in the State of Oregon on November 6, 2018, regarding the election of the
Springfield Utility Board Member-Position 2; Springfield Utility Board Member-Position 3;
Springfield Utility Board Member-Position 4; Springfield Ballot Measure 20-296; and we
do hereby further certify that we have reviewed and have canvassed the votes cast and
that such votes cast for Springfield Utility Board Member-Position 2; Springfield Utility
Board Member-Position 3; Springfield Utility Board Member-Position 4; Springfield Ballot
Measure 20-296 were as follows:

I, Mayor of the City of Springfield, Oregon, do hereby certify that the Springfield
City Council, acting as the Board of Canvassers in accordance with the provisions of the
2001 Charter of the City of Springfield, and with the laws of the State of Oregon, has
canvassed the votes cast at the General Election held on November 6, 2018; that
Virginia Ballew Lauritsen was elected to the Springfield Utility Board-Position 2 for a four
year term commencing January 1, 2019 and expiring December 31, 2022; that John
DeWenter was elected to the Springfield Utility Board-Position 3 for a four year term
commencing January 1, 2019 and expiring December 31, 2022; and Mike Eyster was
elected to the Springfield Utility Board-Position 4 for a four year term commencing
January 1, 2019 and expiring December 31, 2022; and that the City of Springfield Ballot
Measure 20-296 Fix Springfield Streets was passed.
A copy of the official certified Abstract of Votes dated November 21, 2018
summarizing votes cast for such offices is attached hereto. The original Abstract is on
file in the office of the City Recorder.
BE IT FURTHER CERTIFIED that the total number of votes cast for each of the
candidates and ballot measures were as follows:
