Main-McVay  Transit  Study  Purpose  and  Needs  Statement  –  Suggested  Edits  from   Stakeholder  Advisory  Committee     The  GT  was  provided  a  tracked  changes  version  of  the  Main-‐McVay  Transit  Study  Purpose  and   Needs  Statement  with  the  SAC  suggested  changes.  Ron  Kilcoyne  had  sent  an  e-‐mail  regarding   the  suggested  changes  and  his  concern  with  the  language  changes.  John  Evans’  response  was   that  the  SAC  wanted  the  purpose  to  be  more  general  and  broad.     Linda  Wannamaker  went  over  the  changes  to  the  document  with  the  GT.  The  SAC  made  it  clear   that  they  wanted  not  to  just  focus  on  Main  Street  but  to  also  include  McVay.  The  language  was   changed  to  “corridor”  so  both  would  be  included.     There  was  discussion  on  “equitable  access”  that  the  SAC  had  a  hard  time  defining.  The  Mayor   suggested  staff  work  on  what  can  be  measured  and  get  back  to  the  GT.  The  GT  also  suggested   staff  contact  non-‐profits  in  our  area  and  ask  what  they  use  as  language.  Staff  was  directed  to   work  on  the  language  and  e-‐mail  the  GT  their  findings  before  July  4th.     The  idea  of  using  a  footnote  regarding  this  language  was  also  discussed.     There  was  discussion  about  Goal  5.  Language  needs  to  be  added  to  minimize  impact  on  traffic   flow  with  better  safety  for  riders.    It  was  also  brought  up  that  an  additional  objective  could  be   added  that  discussed  “minimizing  conflicts  such  as  between  vehicle  traffic  and  buses”.  Staff  will   work  on  language  and  submit  it  to  the  GT  by  July  4th.       II. Schedule.   There  is  an  all  day  workshop  scheduled  on  July  29th  in  the  EOC  at  the  Springfield  Justice  Center.     Staff  requested  that  the  GT  attend  this  workshop  at  2:00pm  instead  of  3:00pm  so  they  can  have   their  review/discussion  completed  before  the  SAC  arrives  at  3:00pm.  Staff  also  asked  that  the   GT  drop  by  anytime  during  the  day  on  July  30th  in  the  Jesse  Maine  Room  if  their  schedule  allows.     Amy  Sowa,  City  Recorder,  will  send  out  an  updated  invite  for  July  29th.
