REQUESTED:
Approve the May 15, 2018 Primary Election Report of Board of Canvassers and
Proclamation for the election of Springfield City Council positions for Ward 1,
Ward 2 and Ward 5.
ISSUE
STATEMENT:
The City Attorney has forwarded for City Council approval, the Report of Board of
Canvassers and Proclamation for the May 15, 2018 Primary Election for the
election of Springfield City Council positions for Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward 5.

We, the undersigned, constituting the City Council of the City of Springfield, a
Municipal Corporation of the State of Oregon, Lane County, Oregon, acting as a Board
of Canvassers, hereby certify that we have received and reviewed the Certified Abstract
of Results dated May 30, 2018, from the Lane County Clerk for the Primary Election
held in the State of Oregon on May 15, 2018, regarding the election of the City of
Springfield Councilor-Ward 1; City of Springfield Councilor-Ward 2; City of Springfield
Councilor-Ward 5; and we do hereby further certify that we have reviewed and have
canvassed the votes cast and that such votes cast for City of Springfield Councilor-Ward
1; City of Springfield Councilor-Ward 2; and City of Springfield Councilor-Ward 5 were
as follows:

I, Mayor of the City of Springfield, Oregon, do hereby certify that the Springfield
City Council, acting as the Board of Canvassers in accordance with the provisions of the
2001 Charter of the City of Springfield, and with the laws of the State of Oregon, has
canvassed the votes cast at the General Election held on May 15, 2018; that Sean M.
VanGordon was elected to the City of Springfield Council-Ward 1 for a four year term
commencing January 1, 2019 and expiring December 31, 2022; that Steve Moe was
elected to the City of Springfield Council-Ward 2 for a four year term commencing
January 1, 2019 and expiring December 31, 2022; and Marilee S. Woodrow was elected
to the City of Springfield Council-Ward 5 for a four year term commencing January 1,
2019 and expiring December 31, 2022.
A copy of the official certified Abstract of Votes dated May 30, 2018 summarizing
votes cast for such offices is attached hereto. The original Abstract is on file in the
office of the City Recorder.
BE IT FURTHER CERTIFIED that the total number of votes cast for each of the
candidates and ballot measures were as follows:
