WORK SESSION
1. WILLAMALANE PARK AND RECREATION COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE:
DRAFT COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT- Willamalane Park and Recreation District is in the process of updating their Comprehensive
Plan. The Park and Recreation Comprehensive Plan will provide a framework for decision-making over a 20-year planning period regarding acquisition, development and management
of Springfield’s park, recreation and open space system.
The Springfield Planning Commission /CCI approved the Public Involvement Program for the Park and Recreation Comprehensive Plan on April 3, 2001. After adoption by the
Willamalane Board of Directors, the Planning Commission will be asked to recommend adoption of the Park and Recreation Comprehensive Plan by the City of Springfield. Project
completion is targeted for summer, 2003. (Gale) 2. ADJOURN AS PLANNING COMMISSION
3. RE-CONVENE AS PLANNING COMMISSION / COMMITTEE FOR CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT (CCI)
a. SPRINGFIELD DEVELOPMENT CODE (SDC) AMENDMENTS – MEDIAN POLICY AND STREET STANDARDS –
Amendments to the Springfield Development Code (SDC) are needed to establish policy guidance for the use of raised medians on congested streets, revise existing
design criteria for collector and local streets, move provisions which are cumbersome to update to the Public Works Department’s Engineering Design Standards, and remove outdated provisions. Request CCI approval of proposed citizen involvement strategy. (Donovan / McKenney) 4. ADJOURN
