Review Public Comments of Proposed Affordable Housing- As part of the Affordable Housing Implementation project, staff sent the proposed amendments to several outside agencies and interested parties for their input. The 30 day review process ended April 5, 2002. Staff received comments from some of those individuals and agencies. Staff has reviewed all comments and has provided a summary of recommended changes to the code language for the Planning Commission.(Bork) 2. Nodal Selection Project – Briefing TransPlan proposes a strategy for reducing auto dependence through the use of a series of measures that includes the creation of focused areas of higher density mixed-use development along transit corridors called nodes. TransPlan identified 15 potential node sites in the Springfield area totaling almost 2000 acres. Springfield’s initial task is to identify sites totaling about 400 acres for nodal development.
