Nodal Development Site Selection and Implementation Project - Citizen Involvement Program- To accomplish the task of identifying priority node areas, the City applied for a State Transportation Growth Management Grant and received $120,000 to retain a consultant and complete the project. The consultant will assist in market and traffic analyses, and provide support with citizen participation throughout the project. The Nodal Development Implementation project provides several opportunities for citizen involvement through public open houses, and through public participation for those interested on a Steering Committee. The public will be kept informed of public hearings and meetings through advertisements in the Springfield News in accordance with the City's adoption CIP guidelines. A Steering Committee is proposed to guide the project, and to provide insight into the process. Staff is recommending that the Committee be compromised of and ODOT representative, the Contract Administrator for the State TGM office, a Planning Commissioner, A Council Member, and Key Stakeholders, such as property owners and neighborhood organization leaders. Staff will advertise for members through mailers. The City will advertise in the Springfield news, and at the Open Houses for interested parties. (Susanna Julber) 2.
