DISCUSSION OF EUGENE-SPRINGFIELD CONSOLIDATED PLAN AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING ISSUES – At the joint meeting between the Planning Commission and City Council the issue of affordable housing was discussed. At a follow-up Planning Commission work session the Commission indicated to staff at that time an interest in exploring these issues further to determine if there is a role for Planning Commission to play in the future. Housing Planner Robin Johnson will brief the Commission on Affordable Housing issues. To assist the Commission with this discussion, the Eugene-Springfield Consolidated Plan 2000is enclosed. This plan was recently adopted by both the Springfield and Eugene City Councils and is currently being reviewed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development for their approval. This plan is necessary for entitlement communities that receive CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) and HOME funds. (Johnson) 2. ADJOURN
