RE: Electrical Safety Inspection at 535'Main Street, Springfield, Oregon
Dear Mr. Guffin:
At the request of the Springfield.Fire Department,an.Electrical Safety Inspection
was performed by the Springfield Building Safety Division on July 12, 1984 at the
above referenced address. At that time, the following unsafe and hazardous con-
ditions were found to exist that do not meet the minimum requirements of the
Springfield Electrical Specialty Safety Code.
1. The use of extension cords is not approved for permanent wiring. Install
outlets supplied from meta1ic raceway system. adjacent to cord connected
equipmerit such as cash register, video games, sound equipment, spot lights
and dispensers. Extension cords can cause fires.
2. Install approved grounding type cords and cord caps on all appliances,
lights or other equipment that had been served by the extension cords.
Proper grounding provides greater safety.
The Building Safety Division will check on the progress in 30 days from the date
of this letter. Please direct all inquiries to the Springfield Building Safety
Division at 726-3753. .
