Dear Mr. Shore:
This letter is written with reference to building plans recently submitted for the Shorewood facility
at 500 International Way, In the review process we have determined that this property is subject
to sanitary sewer in-lieu-of assessment fees in the amount of $52,185,70, I do not believe you
were previously informed of this fee and I apologize for the oversight. The fee is required to be
collected from all properties which have not been previously assessed for sanitary sewer,
The fee is for the rights to connect to the City of Springfield's owned and maintained sanitary
sewer system and is based on the size of the developing property, The fee is $0,28 per square
foot for the first 150 feet of property depth (measured from the North line of International Way)
and $0,14 per square foot for the remaining development. The actual calculation of the fee is
as follows:

183,307 SF at $0.14 =

The area covered by the fee extends to the north line of the Shorewood building. Future
expansion beyond this line will be subject to the $0.14 per square foot rate or at the rate in effect
