HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06 Employee Recognition, Kristi KruegerMay 7, 2018 Springfield Upbeat Kristi Krueger 20 Year Employee Recognition Kristi first came into the Transportation Division of Development and Public Works as an 18 year old OSU Engineering Student. After graduating from Oregon State University with her Civil Engineering Degree Kristi was hired full time as an Engineer in Training and ultimately became the City’s First Principal Engineer. Kristi’s co-workers have shared the following comments about her: Kristi is capable of leading a complex multi-million dollar project, with a diverse group of people, to a successful conclusion. Kristi demonstrates an elegant balance of professional integrity and genuine caring for people and outcomes on all of her projects. Kristi has grown into an amazing Project leader, mom and inspiring co-worker. Kristi is a proven leader in the organization who demonstrates a passion for her work that shows she is fully invested in the success of the City’s infrastructure construction efforts. Kristi is very well organized, and pays attention to the details and loose ends which are so critical to delivering high quality infrastructure improvements. Some of Kristi’s significant accomplishments include: Being the Project Manager for delivery of Phase 1 on the Franklin Boulevard Reconstruction. Kristi has worked through the Environmental Categorical Exclusion process, design and right of way acquisition, to seeing Phase 1 constructed and expected to open four months ahead of schedule. Kristi served as the Project Manager for the construction phase of Jasper Trunk Sewer. Kristi worked closely with former Councilor Hatfield, a citizen committee, and the public at large to gain approval for the first roundabout in the region located at 58th and Thurston Road. Kristi then led the design work and managed the construction contract to successfully build that roundabout. In the course of working on the 58th and Thurston Roundabout, Kristi worked with a property owner that was vehemently opposed to the project, roundabouts, and the City of Springfield, to that same property owner sending Kristi a bouquet of roses and a card in appreciation for how they were treated throughout the entire project. Kristi has also been a part of the following projects: Maple Island roundabouts MLK Parkway Gateway Street Preservation Thurston Road and A Street Preservation And an integral part of: Development of Street Standards in the Glenwood Refinement Plan Development of Street Standards for Downtown Jeff Paschall shared: “It has been a privilege to work with Kristi and to call her a friend for life… Congrats Kristi”. Tom Boyatt shared: “Kristi is a significant asset to the City and we are fortunate that she has chosen to work in Springfield”.
