A recent observation of your property at 1140 North 35th Street, more
particu,larly described as Lane County Map Reference # 17 02 30 3,4,
Tax Lot 10101, Springfield, Oregon, found it to be in violation of
Section 6.05 of the Springfield Comprehensive Zoning Code, '
The property is zoned Single Family Residelitial (R-1), A portion of
the property along the south side is being used for storaae purposes
in connection with the shake manufacturing operation at 3490 Industrial
Avenue, Springfield, Oregon, A storage area in relation to a manufac-
turing operation is not'a permitted use in an R-1 zone.
Enclosed is a copy of an August 6, 1974 letter to you from the Springfield,
Building Division which addresses the s,ame violation, and also a copy
of an August 21, 1974 letter to the Building Division from your attorney,
R, Conrad Schultz, Your attorney's letter stated that you".., would
no longer be 'using that small strip of property for manufacturing or
storage purposes"," The Ci,ty will a llow another 30 days for the
illegal use of the above mentioned property to be discontinued. The
stored materials must be removed on or before May 31, 1978.
If this procedure is not satisfactory to you, an alternative method
would be to apply to the Springfield Planning Commission for a zone
change to a district that would allow such storage. Further infor-
mation regarding rezoning may be obtained from 'the Springfield Planning
Department at 126 North 4th Street, telephone 726-3759,
