HomeMy WebLinkAboutPermit Correspondence 1998-1-16 . .\. . AGREEMENT & UNDERSTANDING. Date: 01/16/98 To: BUILDING OFFICIAL Subject: GRAND SLAM 921 International Way Springfield, OR As proprietors of the subject business, we understand that the Building Codes which apply to the building and our proposed facility makes certain requirements based on the occupant load that the building will support. Among those ' requirements are measures to assure adequate exiting and other fire and life safety issues, as well as adequate sanitation facilities to serve the anticipated occupants. We also understand that the calculated occupant load that the facility will support has been determined by Building Division staff at 120 occupants. Our experience with similar establishment in this area indicates that the actual occupant load of the building at peak times is more in the neighborhood of 35 occupants. Attached is a record of our experience with the present facility on Prairie Road in Eugene. We have no issue with the fire and life safety requirements of the Building codes for the larger occupancy. However, It will be a considerable hardship to provide additional sanitary facilities for an occupant load which will not, in our experience, never occur. We are therefore proposing to provide a restroom containing a toilet and wash basin for each sex which is designed for accessibility requirements. We are also willing to post a sign in the facility limiting the occupant load to a maximum of 50 occupants and any given time. This is the capacity that will be supported by the proposed sanitary facilities. Dawna Mascolo .... ~- '-f - --~ C---. , roprietor Attachments Acknowledged: Dave Puent -::- ~ , -:2 .
