Oregon 97477 RE: Occupancy Inspection at 868 Main Street. Springfield. Oregon 97477 Dear Mr. Taylor: As of September 9. 1981 the following items have not been installed. repaired. or replaced in order to conform to the applicable codes for a Group A Division 3 Occupancy. * OreQon Structural Specialty Code and Fire and Life Safety Code (S.S.C.) 1. Exit doors shall swing in the direction of exit travel when serving an occupant load of 50 (fifty) or more. (S.S.C. 3003(b)) 2. On Group A Division 3 Occupancies having an occupant load of more than 50 (fifty). the required secondary exit door(s) shall not be provided with a locking device unless it is panic hardware. (S.S.C. 3316(a)) OreQon Electrical Safety Code (E.S.C.) 1. Protective conduit shall be installed to receptacles adjacent to game machines. (E.S.C. 400-8(1) and 410-29-(a)(b)(e)) 2. All machines are to have hard-service type cord with a ground conductor and ground- ing type cord caps. (E.S.C. 410-29(a)) 3. The lighting fi.xtures above the pool tables shall be supplied by a wiring method that provides a ground conductor. (E.S.C. 410-17(a)) 4. Each circuit shall be legibly marked to indicate its purpose in the service panel. (E.S.C. 110-22) Oregon Electrical Safety Law Section 22-110(b) states that all electrical work performed on property that is for rent. sale. or lease shall be done by a licensed electrical contractor. Before work is begun. a building permit,and an electrical permit must be obtained from the Building Division. The electrical lable protion of the electrical permit must be purchased. placed. and signed by a licensed electrical contractor. 225 North 5th Street · Springfield. Should you wish to appeal the interpretation of the Fire Prevention 8UI-eau and/or the Building Division relative to any or all of the above referenced code sections, you must make application to the Building Board of Appeals within 48 hours of the receipt of this notice. Because of the potential hazards associated with the above referenced code sections, a special 80ard of Appeals meeting will be scheduled as soon as can be arranged. Should you decide not to file an application to the Board within the time specified, you should be prepared to comply with the above requirements by Monday, November 2, 1981.
