. Field Observations and Comments
PSI on-site to observe foundation footing excavations and perform compaction testing on crushed rock. All foundation
footing excavations were performed using the Hitachi 270LC excavator with a smooth bladed bucket and all excavated
soils were hauled off site. The relatively undisturbed soils at the base of the excavations appeared to be native silts as
described in our geotechnical report dated September 25, 1998. Depth of the excavations to remove existing fill
materials are listed on the attached site plan. They ranged in depth from 5 1/2 feet to 7 1/2 feet below finished rock
grade elevalion. All compaction tests performed on this date met and/or exceeded the project requirements of 95
percent. Results of those tests will be reported under separate cover. To the best of our knowledge, the work
inspected above was in accordance with the building department approved design drawings, specifications and
applicabe workmanship provisions of the International Building Code.
