Dear Brian:
On January 28th, survey personnel from Balzhiser & Hubbard Engineers visited the Pacific Source site at
110 International Way in Springfield to check the finish grade of the recently constructed generator pad at
that location. A level circuit was run from the nearby Lane County Control Monument LCCM 1219,
which has a published elevation of 433.56 feet based on the NGVD '29 datum. The NGVD '29 datum is
used for the Flood Insurance Rate Maps in the local area and differs slightly from the datum used by the
City of Springfield. Based on the results of this survey, the elevation on 'the top of the concrete generator
pa',I~\Va,~,detennined tp be.431.11 f~ The 100-year flood elevation at this location, based on FIRM Map
Number 41039CI134 F, is approximately 429.4, placing the top of the pad and the equipment a little over
one and one-half feel above the expected 100-year flood. " :': " ,,'
Based on my conversation with City building officials, this letter should serve as the certification they are
requesting as a part of processing permit numbe, C0M2007-00843.
