PHASE 2
ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt or reject the following resolution:
A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P21102; DOWNTOWN STREET LIGHTING – PHASE 2
ISSUE STATEMENT: The work on this project has been completed by Lantz Electric, Inc., and final
inspection, paperwork and approval has been completed by City Staff. The Project
is now ready for City Council to formally accept the work.

DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This project consisted of the installation of 58 decorative street lights on Main Street. The first location of new lighting was installed from Mill Street to Pioneer
Parkway East and the second location was from 6th Street to 10th Street. The work
included new poles and foundations, retrofitting used light fixtures with LED kits.
The Council authorized a capital budget for this project of $420,000.00 in SEDA
funds dedicated for construction only. This project has been completed with the final cost of $479,122.24 which consists of $358,190.54 for the construction
contract and $120,931.70 in internal staff costs for project development and administration of the construction contract.
All work done under this contract has been completed and inspected by the City Engineer and found to be satisfactory.

Acceptance
WHEREAS, work on the improvements described below have been fully completed and
have been duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield:
P21102; DOWNTOWN STREET LIGHTING – PHASE 2 WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the contracts
now on file in the City Recorder’s office; and,
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that these improvement projects be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of Springfield.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1) The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for future maintenance the above-described projects and accepts said improvements from
the contractors involved.
2) This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, this 5th day of
February, 2018.
