RE: Occupancy Inspection at 977 Main Street
Dear Mr. Beckett:
At your request, the Building Division of the City of Springfield made an oc-
cupancy inspection on Augus't 28, 1980 at 977 Main Street, 'Springfield, Oregon.
The fOllO\;ing items must be installed, repaired or replaced to conform to the
State Building Code.
STRUCTURAL FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY:
1) In Group B Division 2 Occupancies, floors above the first story having
an occupancy load of more than 10. shall have not less than two exits
and shall be placed a distance apart equal to not less than one-half of
the length of the maximum overall diagonal dimension of the building or
area to be served measured in a straight line between exits. (Section
3302, Structural Speciality Code).
2) Every corridor or exterior exit balcony serving an occupany load of 10 or
more shall be not less than 44 inches in width. (Section 3304, Structural
Speciality Code).
3) Exterior exit balcony shall be protected with a guardrail not less than
42 inches in height. (Section 1716, Structural. Speciality Code).
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
1) A main service disconnect shall be installed. (Section 230-72, National
Electrical Code).

2) Existing individual service panels shall be rewired.as sub-panels. (Sec-
tion 384-27, National Electrical Code).
3) All circuits in sub-panels shall be clearly identified. (Section 110-22,
National Electrical Code).
4) Existing conduits on back west wall shall have all fittings tightened and
properly strapped. (Section 348-8, 348-12, National Electrical Code).

5) Water heater shall be made accessible for service (Section ,110-76, National
Electrical Code).
6) All outside light fixtures shall be repaired at this time. (Section 110-3
(a)7, National Electrical Code).
All property that is being leased, rented or sold is required to be wired by a
licensed electrical contractor. All applicable permits must be obtained before
work begins.
