Field Observations and Comments
Performed visual inspection of reinforcing steel in the following locations: 5'4" to 8'4" elevation at interior masonry walls (oil
room, compressor room, electrical room), Reinforcing steel was checked for grade, size, lap, placement and clearances
where applicable. Reinforcing steel was placed in accordance with approved design drawings and specifications. All cells
were relatively clean and mortar projections are within the limits of the International Building Code. Perfonned continuou~,
inspection during the placement of grout in the locations listed above. Grout was placed by pump and manuall,'
consolidated. All cells were grouted solid. Note: grout truck ran out with approximately 4'x8" remaining over door at eas"
interior wall. Contractor mixed one sack of mortar to finish pour at this location (PCL sand type S masonry mortar spec.
mix) mixed with cement and pea gravel. To the best of our knowledge, the work inspected above was in accordance with
the building department approved design drawings, specifications and applicable workmanship provisions of the
International Building Code. Contractor was advised of all on-site results
and asked to notify our office when additional services are needed.

Grout substitution
The mason contacted us and infolTTled us that as they found that they were two and a half sacks of
grout mix sho'rt while they ,were finishing the interior walls of the addition, They finished the last four
feel of interior walls with a mix of the specified grout, portland cement, sand and pea gravel, This
