CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, OREGON
RESOLUTION NO. 08-28
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ROBERT G. DICKINSON AS A SPRINGFIELD MUNICIPAL
COURT JUDGE PRO TEM FOR PURPOSES OF HEARING COPPINGER Dun 07-10245
WHEREAS, the City's chief witness in Springfield Court Case Coppinger DUn 07-10245
is City Councilor Joe Pishioneri; and,
WHEREAS, Defendant Coppinger's attorney filed a Motion seeking disqualification of all
current Springfield Municipal Court Judges for the reason that the relationship of the
judiciary to Counsel presents the appearance of impropriety, and further requesting the
appointment of a Pro Tem Judge; and,
WHEREAS, Judge James Strickland granted Defendant Coppinger's Motion for the
appointment of a Pro Tem Judge; and,
WHEREAS, Judge James Strickland and the Office of City Attorney have recommended
Robert B. Dickinson as a Pro Tem Judge for the purpose of hearing and adjudicating the
Coppinger DUn 17-1024 case.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Springfield
as follows:
1. Robert Dickinson is hereby appointed as a Pro Tem Judge of the Springfield
Municipal Court for the specific purpose of hearing and adjudicating Coppinger
DUn 07-10245.
2. This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption and approval by the
Mayor.
Adopted by the Common Council and approved by the Mayor of the City of Springfield, .
