As you requested a site soils investigations were performed at the above address on June 1,2005.
All unsuitable fills, organic and other unsuitable material has been removed to a suitable grade.
The natlve sOli IS a rocky silty clay/loam with a Unified Classification ofML-CL with a
plastlcIty llldex of less than 20 This soil has a moderate potential for expansion (Holtz 1959).
A mlllimum of 6 to 8 mches of compacted crushed rock is to be placed on the site with tracked
excavatwn equipment. The material IS to be placed in lifts not exceed 8 inches where a greater
depth of crushed rock is mstalled to bnng the SIte up to the desired elevation for construction
purposes The crushed rock is to be further compacted with either a vibratory roller or plate
compactor.
On June 8, 2005, a compaction inspection was performed at the site where a maximum of 18
lllches of crushed rock was placed in lifts and compacted wIth a vibratory roller. The compaction
of the gravel surface is greater than 95% ofa standard proctor, per ASTM D698.
ThIS report is limIted to SOli conditions at the building site and slope stability is not within the
scope of thIS investigation and report.
