Springfield Buildmg Permit COM2006-00691 5798 Montclaire Way Inspection of Foundation Fill At your request, we have inspected the in-place density Of granular fills place on the subject foundation pad. The fill consists of 4 to 12-lnches of 11f2-inch minus dense graded crushed aggregate from Morse Bros. Quarry in Spnngfleld, Oregon o We inspected the foundation pad excavatIOn, pnor placement of the granular fIlls. Foundation pad excavation was made according to our recommendations and Involved stripping and removing 1 to 3-feet of loose organic silts and highly plastic silts from the foundation area. The subgrade was leveled on undisturbed native tan/brown stiff sms over which the granular fills were placed in 12-mch maximum lifts and compacted using a VIbratory steel wheeled roller. According to our fleld-testlng1 we have determined that the average dry density equals or exceeds 95% of the maximum as determined by ASTM D698. A copy our the field test results are attached to thiS report. We recommend approval of the foundation fill, as constructed, by the building official. Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.
