Prolect 90.04 Corey Development, l.L.C. 3956 Mirror Pond Way Eugene, OR 97408 _ Subject Foundation Soils 6807 Aster St. (Lot 12), City of Springilsld Permit No. COM2004-o040 1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE As requested, K & A Engineering, Inc. has completed a limited evaluatIon of salls at the subject SIte of the constructIon eta sIngle-family residence on lot 12 of the St. LucIa Park subdivision The purpose of thIs evaluation was to determine the suitability of the site for construction of the proposed conventionally framed structure on cast-in-prace concrete spread foofings and to make recommendatIons for preparation 01 the foundation pad. FOUNDATION PREPARATION The site is located on a flat lot south of Main Street off of a new extension of Aster Street There were no signs of signIficant unstable areas (tensIon cracks, depressions, scarps) at the time of our inspection or during excavation. Solis at the site consisted of appiQJ(lmately 1.5-feet of loose brown OigaiiiC silts aliBi tan, moist, modeiataly stiff, piastlc slits. The tan plastIc slits are moderately BxpanSlve. One spring was noted at the south east corner of tile fOUndatIon excavation. Preparation of the foundation pad was maae according to our on-site recommendations, ana conslstea of stripping the surface organic slits, removing them off-site, and excavating to a depth of 2.5 to- 3.0-feet from the existing ground surface to undisturbed slits Approximately 12 to 18-Inches 0' select granular fill consisting of 3"-lnch dense-graded Quarry rock was placed in 12.inch (maximum) lifts and compacted using a steel-wheeled vibratory roller until no further deformation was evident dunng compaction at the edges 0' the roller 2 to 3-lnchs of Vol-Inch or 1 lh-Inch minus crushed aggregate was placed over the select granular 1111 and compacted.
