regarding a c1anficatlon~ of the eXisting np-rap retaining structure placed at the I

See letters dated December 11, 1998, December 14, 1998 and January 27,
1999 Since the placenient of the rrp-rap on December 12, 1998 I have made
one site inspection at the above noted address That inspection was on the 26th
of January 1'999 Dunng that inspection the following observations were made
regarding the np-rap structure

The rrp-rap, structure IS tperformlng adequately as constructed There has been
no movement of site sOI'ls Since the installation of the structure The structure IS

a self supporting, meaning that does not need an additional retaining wall placed

at It'S toe to support It The only function of an additional retaining wall would be
to support additional fill The Intended purpose of the np-rap was as a ,
permanent fix to the over-excavation of the site It was never Intended or Implied
that thiS IS a temporary piece that shall be removed at a later date \
