Performed inspection on the reinforcing steel in the 8" CMU walls on lines 1 and 6, from
line F to G and on G, from 1 to 6 (8'8" to 12'0"). Reinforcing steel was checked for
grade, size, lap, spacing, quantity and clearances, where applicable. Note: detail
7/56.1 specifies two (2) #5 verticals with hooks in end cell under I-beam lintel and
two (2) #5 verticals in next cell to be full height of wall near 1F and 6F. Rebar
was not installed as shown in detail. Curt Dawson (Meili Construction) and Erik
Kunke.l (Hohbach-Lewin) were advised. Mr. Kunkel to review and follow-up with
Mr. Dawson.
Cells were relatively clean and free of excessive mortar projections. Observed the
placement of 6.5 cu.lyds. of MBI 7.5 sack grout (Mix 712-G). Grout was placed by
pump and was mechanically consolidated. Grout slump 9"; grout temperature 58F; air
temperature 47F.
To the best of our knowledge, the work inspected was in accordance with revised plans
dated 08-30-06 and applicable workmanship provisions of the I.B.C., except if noted
above. Mr. Dawson was asked to notify our office when additional services are
needed.
