It is the responsibility of the permit holder to see that all inspections are made at the proper time. To request an inspection, call
726-3769 (recorder), state your City designated job number, job address, type of inspection requested and when you will be ready
for Inspection. Requests received before 7:00 a.m. will be made the same working day, requests made after 7:00 a.m. will be made
the fOllowing work day.

Certificate of Occupancy has been issued by the Building Dr"vision

Application of Base Ply>' 3
Apply PERMA PLY base ply with 2" (min. 1"1 side laps and
end laps. Mechanically secure maximum g. o..c. at side laps and
maximum 18" o.c. on two lines 11.13" from each edge (staggered).
Mechanical securement using mechanical fasteners recommended
by the deck manufacturer. lsrge.head Simplex nails (minimum
'%," head diameter). or the Senco Fastening system may be used
on wood or plywood decks only. To minimize wrinkles and buckles
allow enough time for base ply to relax unrolled prior to attachment.
Application of Plies
Embed two plies of PERMA PLY in shingle fashion (starter sheets
requiredl, lapping 19" into uniform solid mappings of hot bitumen,
using 23-45Ib/l00 ftJ per ply. Starter plies should be cut to dimen-
sions so as to preclude coincident side laps to the base ply. Plies
may be left exposed up to six months without surfacing. -
Application of Mineral Surface
Embed nominal 12"ft. lengths of PERMA CAP (la-ft. in Area III)
with 2" Imin. 1"') side and end laps into a uniform solid mopping
of hot bitumen, using 20.30 (b/lOO ft~ PERMA CAP end laps shall
be staggered minimum 3 ft.
Application of Emulsion and Granules
Unifonnly embed minimum 50 Ib/l00 ftz of No. 11 roofing granules
into uniform coating of emulsion using not less than 2 galll00 ft~
A minimum 30 day wait is recommended before applying emulsion
and granules.
. 33.NC. 32-NC and 31-NC are recommended OYer lightweight concrete in
the following states: Texas, Georgia, South Carolina. Alabama, Louisiana,
Mississippi, Rorida, California Area Ill, and Arizona Area III.
I Base Ply-may be specified PERMA PLY No. 2B, PERMA PlY.IV, PERMA
PLY-G. or PERMA PLY-R. If PERMA PLY No. 2B base sheet not used, base
ply.used must be the same as the ply felts.
I Red Rosin-recommended on all wood and plywood decks, required on
wood plank decks. Not required where PERMA PLY No. 28 is used as
base ply,

General
Note
All general instructions contained in the General Requirements
section of Owens-Corning Built-Up Roofing Products Reference and
ApplicatioA Guide, Pub. No. 5-RW.13121 shall be considered part of
this specification.
Drainage
Roof decks must be graded to drain all water freely. Drains shall be
sufficient in number and size to assure rapid elimination of water
from the roof surface.
Nailing
Ply felts must be back nailed on inclines exceeding 2" per foot.
On slopes between 2" and 3" per foot. back nailing shall not exceed
a foot on center. On slopes greater than 3" per foot, back nailing
shall not exceed 48" on center. Felts are to run parallel to the incline
and must be secured 18" in from the back edge of the felt. Each
nail must be covered by succeeding plies. High temperature areas
may require nailing on lower slopes.
