As you requested, a site/soils investigation was performed on these three adjacent lots on January
18,2002. Design for the site is as follows:
All unsuitable fill, vegetation, and unbuildable material have been removed, The native soil is a silty-
clay loam with a Unified SOils Classification of ML and a plasticIty index of less than 15, The
expansiveness of the so,, is low (after Holtz 1959). A maximum 4" of crushed rock should be

inclement weather. No extraordinary drainage or compactIon is required for treatment of expansive

On January 29, 2002, a compaction inspection was preformed after fill placement on Lot 110, The
compacted surface of the 1 ~.. minus crushed rock is adequate for a foundation bearing capacity of
1500 psf. with the exception of the area south of rear garage foundation. This area had been
driven on by a loaded dump truck causing the sub grade to intermix with the crushed rock. This IS
crawl area where individual footings are to be installed to support the 32" on center floor beams.
The contractor was Instructed to hand excavate to firm bearing and then place the concrete for the
