Lot 95'Levl-l:-anding -.$ltef~i1s Investigation - W 0, # 14560-1-2-RDR As you requested, a site/soils investigation was performed on this lot on May 8,2002 Design for the site IS as follows: All unsuitable fill, vegetation, and unbUlldable material have been removed to native grade, The native soil.is a silty-clay loam with a Unified Soils ClaSSification of ML and a plasticity index of less than 20 The expansiveness of the soil IS low (after Holtz 1959), A maximum 4" of crushed rock should be Installed wIth tracked excavation equipment to protect the proposed bUlldl,ng site In the event of inclement weather. No extraordinary drainage or compaction is required for'treatment of expansive soils at thiS site. On May 10, 2002, a'compaction inspection was preformed after fill placement. The compacted surface of the 1 1f2" minus crushed rock is adequate for a foundation beanng capacity of 1500 pst, which IS adequate to support the proposed conventional wood frame residence. The compaction of the' grave! surface IS greater than 95% of a sta~dard proctor per ASTM D698-91. Thank you for this oppo~unity to be of service.
