As you requested, a site/soils Investigation was performed at the above noted address on
March 1, 2002 Design for the site IS as follows'
All unsuitable fill, vegetation, and unbUlldable material have been removed to native grade.
Pumping ofthe sub grade was observed where a loaded gravel truck had maneuvered on the
sIte. This area IS approximately 24 Inches Wide IS normal to and across an interior strip
footing. This area Will most likely firm up as the site dries and the concrete strip footing with
2- #4 reinforcing bars Will bridge over the soft area In the Interim,
The native sOil IS a silty-clay loam with a Unafled Soils Classification of ML and a plastiCity
Index of less than 15. The expansiveness ofthe soil is low (after Holtz 1959). A maximum 4"
of crushed rock should be installed with tracked excavation equipment to protect the
proposed bUilding site m the event of Inclement weather, No extraordinary draInage or
compaction IS required for treatment of expansive solis at this site. il
