This letter will serve to acknowledge your telephone oall to this offioe regarding your failing
septio system.
I discussed the situation with Mr. Stan Petrasek, Manager of the Environmental Health
Division of the Lane County Department of Health and Human Resouroes. He assured me that
his office will be able to help you with a determination on a method of repair or replacement
of your septic system once this office confirms that there is no sewer available to the property
at this time.
Your property is located in the Urban Growth area north of the City Limits. At present, there
is no sewer line in your vicinity to which your property could be connected. It is also the
City's polioy not to allow connection of properties outside the City limits to the City Sewer
System until the property is annexed into the City. Your property is a significant distance
from the present City boundary, which makes it impractical to consider annexation at this
time, notwithstanding the lack of sewer availability.
Until such time that the City sewer system can be extended to your area through the
annexation process, your septic system should be repaired or replaced as deemed appropriate
by the Lane County Environmental Health officials. Please contact that office at your earliest
convenience.
