DEVELOP:MENT ISSUES MEETING #ZON2008-00021 MASON
Tax Map 18-02-06-24, Tax Lot 3500,3600,3701,3900,4000, South 3200 & Jasper Road
Listed below are our comments for the above referenced development proposal.
1. The proposed development IS currently outsIde of an established water service area. If pubhc
water supply IS desired, annexation of the property IS requIred. At that tIme, SUB wiU serve
water to the property. I have prOVIded a map shoWIng our water faclhtles in the area of the
development, There IS an 8" waterline crOSSIng Jasper Road for this development. ThIS
subdIVIsIon WIll also need to connect to the 6" waterline in Kintzley Avenue for CIrculation.
2. All new water system facllItles and modIfications to water system facllIhes both mSlde and
adJacent to the proposed development shall be placed in street right-of-way at a location and
depth of bury that meets the standards of the SUB Water DIVISIon.
3. All water facIlity materials shall be to a standard that must meet SUB Water Division
specIficatIons.
4. All workmanshIp shall be performed to meet or exceed SUB Water DiviSIOn constructIOn
standards.
5. Size ofwaterhne and other faclhtles, IncludIng water meters, must meet the needs of the SUB
Water DIviSIOn and the long-range needs of the City. These needs mc1}lde, but are not hroited to,
meter locahon and access, SIzes of water distnbution and transmission lines, pumping facdities,
and commumcation hnes.
6. Please ask the developer to contact the SUB Water DIVISIon for detalled mformation on the
materials and constructIon standards, detalled costs for mstallmg SUB water faCIlItIes, and a
schedule of construction. Constructlon expenses may be reduced WIth good plannmg of reqwred
water facllihes, good hming offacIhties installation, andjomt trench opportumtIes.
7 AU water meters WIll be placed in public nght-of-way at a locatIOn identified by the developer.
Each lot or parcel must have Its own water service.

8. Water service facilItIes WIll be mstalled upon collectIOn of development charges. Development
polICIes and charges Identified in thIS letter are subject to change. Actual charges WIll be those in
effect at the time water semce IS requested.
9 Springfield has several wellhead protectIOn areas. Nmety percent of Springfield's dnnkmg water
comes from wells. In every instance, care shall be taken to prevent groundwater contammation.
Contractors/developers/owners shall be responsIble for the safe handlmg and storage of
chemIcals, petroleum products, fertilizers, and the prevention of groundwater and storm water
runoff contammatlOn.
Special requIrements may be necessary for groundwater protechon at thIS development. Contact
Amy Chinitz at Spnngfield UtilIty Board Water DIvision for detalls at 726-2396.
PLEASE NOTE:
SUB development charges are paId drrectly to SUB Water DIvision and
SUB ElectrIC DIviSIOn.
