Subgrade Inspection
Dear Mr, Marx:
In accordance with your request on November 19, 1997, we are submitting this letter to
confirm that preparation of the subgrade for the new building was inspected by Black &
Veatch. The upper un-consolidated soils were excavated to expose the weathered basalt
bedrock formation, the sub-base smoothed with clean, granular, crushed rock and the
subbase proof-rolled and compacted, To the best of our knowledge, based'on the work
performed and our site inspections, the subgrade preparation is in full compliance with the
contract documents.
