The proposed development IS WIthtn the Spnngfield CIty limIts and will receIve water semce from the SprIngfield Utlhty Board (SUB). For tlus subdiVIsIon, the waterline at 19th Street and Yolanda Avenue wIll need to be tapped and extended WIth an 8" water mam up 19th Street. The 6" waterhne ill Vera Street WIll also need to be extended to 19th Street. 2. All new water system faclhtIes and modifications to water system facIhties both mSlde and adjacent to the proposed development shall be placed in street nght-of-way at a location and depth of bury that meets the standards of the SUB Water DIVIsion. 3. All water facility materials shall be to a standard that must meet SUB Water DIVIsion speCIfications. A. All workmanship shall be performed to meet or exceed SUB Water DIVIsion constructlon standards. 5. Size ofwaterlme and other facIlItIes, including water meters, must meet the needs of the SUB Water DIVIsion and the long-range needs of the CIty. These needs mclude, but are not hrruted to, meter locatIon and access, SIzes of water distrIbutIon and transmission lines, pumping facilities, and commUnicatIOn lines 6. Please ask the developer to contact the SUB Water DiVISIon for detalled mfonnatlon on the matenals and constructIOn standards, detailed costs for InstallIng SUB water facIhnes, and a schedule of constructIon. ConstructIon expenses may be reduced WIth good plannmg of requrred water facIlItIes, good tIming of facIhtles mstall(itIon, and joint trench opportumtles. 7. All water meters will be placed In public nght-of-way at a locatIon identlfied by the developer. Each lot or parcel must have Its own water ServIce. Water servIce facilItIes will be mstalled upon collection of development charges. Development polICIes and charges identified m tlns letter are subject to change. Actual charges WIll be those in effect at the time water servIce IS requested. 9. Spnngfield has several wellhead protectIon areas. Nmety percent of Spnngfield's drinking water comes from wells. In every mstance, care shall be taken to prevent groundwater contamInatIon. Contractors/developers/owners shall be responsIble for the safe handhng and storage of chenucals, petroleum products, fertllizers, and the prevention of groundwater and storm water runoff contamInatIon.
