Dear Ms. Hopper:
We are assi~ting the Atlantic Richfield Company with the implementation of an image modification of the
, e~isting pump island canopy at the above-referenced facility, ARCO owns and operates the AReO AM/PM
Mini-Market at 3521 Gareway Street in Springfield, Oregon, The mini-market facility i~ accompanied with
a pump island canopy for the retail distribution of gasoline, At this time, we would like LO verify that a permit
is not required for this proposed minor cosmetic change to the canopy_
ARea plans to re-image the canopy by modifying the fascia paneling and alreting the treatment of Ihe
,~anopy columns, The major components of the re-imaging include a new bluelsilverfblue banded fascia with
one illuminated red ARCO logo per side, and silver canopy column wraps, The fascia will be constrUcted
of silver ACM with blue decorative film (top and bottOm), and the column wraps will be constructed of 14
gauge sreeL pre-finished with silver powder-coated paint, Architecturally, the proposed re-imaging is a vast
improvement ID the e,usting appearance of this facility,
The "New Look" image has been specifically developed to: 1) differentiate ARCO's gasoline operation from
its convenience sIDre franchise; 2) reflect a polished, high-tech, clean, simple, and hold presentation of
ARea gasoline; and 3) move ARCO forward with an up-to-dare image improvement program.
\Ve are cunently in compliance with the allowable sign area. .The moditication will nor incr~ase the sign
area for this facility,
