SUBJECT: Scheduled "1\Jrnover" of Sears to Uvner by Contractor
General Growth of California has a contract with Sears which provides for
a scheduled turnover of portions of the building to the owner for
completion by Sears' own representatives/contractors. Although the
schedule does not represent dates for occupancy approval in those
sections which are being turned over, the oontractor must have all work
substantially complete, including finished areas to be covered by ceiling
tile, etc.
The schedule provides for turnover to Sears on the following dates, which
means we can anticipate an accelerated inspection load in the week prior
to each date. (The areas referred to are shown on the attached drawing.)
TURNOVER
S C H E D U L E
JUNE 19, 1989 - AREA 1
JULY 3, 1989 - AREA 2
JULY 17, 1989 - AREA 3
JULY 24, 1989 - AREA 4
JULY 31, 1989 - AREA 5
AUGUST 7, 1989 - AREA '6
AUGUST 14, 1989 - AREAS 7
Two of the scheduled turnover dates fall in the period of time when I
will be on vacation (July 21-31), and other Building Div. staff will
need to coordinate the inspections for these areas as well as the rest of
. the gateway mall project.
Ray Kairis and Con Olsen, at the General Growth Site office will help by
reminding the subcontractors to request inspections in order to expedite
.
.
'.
their scheduled turnover. 1'.11 contractors ,.!ill still be required to call
in on the inspection request line at the site trailer.
The requests can be retrieved each morning from City Hall by using the
remote beeper in the desk beside the Bldg. Div. printer. The attached
instructions explains how to do this.
Thank you for your help during my much deserved tirre off (really!)
