8.254 1-5 Mall District.
The 1-5 Mall District is designated
on Map No.2. The following
combination of signs shall be
permitted for this approved
development area because of its
unique size and tbe lack of street
frontage for businesses and
complexes Incated within the area:
(1) Wall Signs. In addition to the
free standing signs, the approved
development area may have wall
signs at eacb primary entrance. Tbe
total allowable area for all such
signs shall be 1,000 square feet. No
single sign shall exceed 400 square
feet.
(2) Free Standing Signs.
(a) Two free standing signs shall be
permitted for each approved
development area greater than 20
acres. The sign closest to 1-5 shall be
limited to 700 square feet for one
face and 1,400 square feet for two or
more faces with a maximum height
of 50 feet above grade. The other
free standing sign shall be limited to
400 square feet per face, or 800
square feet for two or more faces,
with a maximum height of 30 feet.
(b) One additional free standing sign
will be permitted at each vehicular
entrance. Each sign will be limited t(
25 square feet for all faces with a
maximum height of 20 feet.
(3) Anchor Tenants. Ancbor tenants
with 50,000 or more square feet of
gross area shall be permitted a wall
sign for each principal face of the
building. The maximum allowable .
sign area per wall sball not exceed
200 square feet per building face.

(5) Logos. Logos at each primary
entrance are allowed to the
permitted wall signs listed above
provided the logo is the logo of the
business residing on the premises
and provided the total square
footage of tbe permitted wall sign(s)
and logo(s) do not exceed a
combined area of 1,000 square feet.
Ancbor tenants witb 50,000 or more
square feet of gross area may also
include logos in tbeir allowable wall
signage but shall not exceed a
maximum of 200 square feet per
building face. Tenants between
20,000 and 49,999 square feet of
gross area may also include logos in
their allowable wall signage but shall
not exceed a maximum of 100
square feet per building face.
Businesses located on the second
story and above may include logos
into tbelr allowable square footage
for a combined total of 50 square
feet. A permit is required for each
logo that is being installed based on
the square footage of the proposed
logo.
(6) Tenants. Tenants between 20,000
and 49,999 square feet of gross area
shall be permitted a wall sign for
each principal face of building. Tbe
maximum allowable sign area per
wall shall not exceed 100 square feet
per building face.
(7) Additional Wall Sign age. In
addition to the wall signage
identified above, 12 additional wall
signs shall be allowed on the exterior
wall of the mall structure. These
additional signs sball not exceed a
combined square footage of 1,200
square feet, with no one sign

(8) Illumination From Signs on
Non-residential Property. External
illumination shall be shielded so that
the light source elements are not
directly visible from property in a
residential zone which is adjacent to
or across a street from the property
in the non-residential zone. (Section
8.254 amended by Ordinance No.
5862, enacted September 15, 1997;
further amended by Ordinance No.
6008, enacted March 18,2002;
further amended by Ordinance No.
6089, enacted June 21, 2004; further
amended by Ordinance No. 6114,
enacted February 7, 2005.)
To Request an inspection call the 24 hour recording at 726-3769. All inspection requested before 7:00 a.m.
will be made the same working day, inspections requested after 7:00 a.m. will be made the following work
day.

Sign Electrical: After connection is made but prior to energizing
Sign Attachment: Method of mounting the sign tn a structure or pole. Method of attachment of bolts or welds.
Sign Final: After all required inspectinns are cnnducted and approved and the sign installation is completed.

information hereon is true and correct, and 1 further certify that any and all work performed shall be done in accordance with
the Ordinances of the City of Springfield and the Laws of the State nf Oregon pertaining to the work described herein, and
that NO OCCUPANCY will be made of any structure withnut permission oftbe Community Services Division, Building Safety.
I further certify that only contractors and employees who are in compliance with ORS 701.005 will be used on this project.
I further agree to ensure that all required inspections are requested at the proper time, that each address is readable from the
street, that the permit card is located at the front of the property, and the approved set of plans will remain on the site at all
times during construction.
