Sheathina - W.O. #5632
As you requested, an inspection was made to determine if the residence
under construction is adequately braced to resist lateral. wind forces.
At the time of. the inspection, the structure's exterior walls were
sheathed with a combination of R-Max insulating board and oriented
strand board (OSB). The One and Two Family Dwelling Code requires
let-in bracing or a 4' wide structural sheathing panel at the end of
each wall and at least every 25' of wall length. As was discussed
with. you at the site, the following recommendations are made:
1. Install an OSB panel at the end of each wall (at corners).
2. At the west lower level wall, the entire wall is to be OSB.
3. At the north or rear wall at both levels, install a 4' panel
at wall ends and a 4' panel at the center of the wall.
I hope you find this report adequate for your purposes at this time.
Please contact me if you have further questions. Thank you for this
opportunity to be of service.
Very truly yours,
Emile Mortier, P.E.
