The depth of the gravel fill varied from a minimum depth of 6" to a maximum of 18". The underlying soil was not visible due to the crushed rock being in place, but based on areas exposed at the CIl1. banks, the following assumptions can be made: an inspection was performed. to determine sit" adequacy of the gravel. fill placed by williAm", At. the upper level of the benched cut, some expansive type ,)f soils were evident in these areas and what appears to be a minimum of 12" of crushed rock has been placed and adequately compacted.
