Dear Ms. Sullivan:
This will supplement my earlier letter to you , dated June 28,
1978, regarding the above-referenced house.
The following substandard conditions exist at that addr~s,
in contravention of the Springfield Housing 1?~~: ~

It is our~~derstanding that this house is owned by you.

Since April, 1977, representatives of the City of Springfield,
Department of Public Works, have been requesting that you cor-
rect the above-set forth conditions and bring the house in'.--
compliance with the Springfield Code. These requests have
,been sent to both you and your previous tenant, Ms. Sheryl
Hines. An inspection of the house, on August 3, 1978, indi-
cates that you, apparently, are unconcerned about the problems
we have listed. Because of the length of time involved, we
believe we have been more than fair in providing you the oppor-
tunity to make the corrections without resort to legal action.
Now, however, because this matter has dragged on too long, we
see little alternative except legal action against you to
enforce provisions of the Springfield Code. You have until
September 13, 1978, in which to contact Ms. Sally Johnson,
Environmental Controller, Department of Public Works, City of
Springfield (telephone, 726-3753), and present her with a time
table, satisfactory to her, for your correction of the viola-
tions.
If you do not contact Ms. Johnson by September 13, 1978, and
reach agreement with her for correction of the substandard
conditions, we intend to commence appropriate legal proceed-
