DEVELOPMENT SERVICES ADMINISTRATION PLANNING I BUILDING PUBLIC WORKS METROPOLITAN WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT April 9, 1990 CERTIFIED LETTER Goodwill Industries of Lane County Attention Mike Dubbs 855 Seneca Road Eugene, Oregon 97402 RE: Occupancy Inspection At 216 Main Street, Springfield, Oregon Dear Mr. Dubbs: At your request, an Occupancy Inspection was performed at the above referenced address on March 27, 1990 by the Springfield Building Safety Division. The application stijted that the proposed use of the second floor portion of structure is for apartment units. In order for the proposed use to be in compliance with State Building Code requirements, the following items must be repaired and/or replaced prior to occupying the building. All applicable permits must be obtained prior to beginning the work. STRUCTURAL 1. The second story shall be provided with a minimum of two exits. 2. The floor ceiling assembly and walls must be of 1-hour fire resistive construction. 3. Handrails must be provided at exit stairways. 4. A floor plan of the apartment units must be provided. 5. Access must be provided to inspect sagging ceiling joists for structural integrity. 6. Repair roof covering to prevent further water damage. 7. Exits must be provided with 1-hour fire resistive protection. ELECTRICAL 1. Provide electrical drawings of service feeders and equipment circui try. 2. Replace all defective wiring and devices. FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY 1. Provide one 2A rated fire extinguisher for every 3000 square feet of floor area. The maximum travel distance to the extinguisher shall not exceed 75 feet. 2. All sleeping areas are required to be provided with a smoke detector.
