726-3769 (recorder), state your City designated job number, job address, type of inspection requested and when you will be ready
for Inspection. Requests received before 7:00 a.m. will be made the same working day, requests made after 7:00 a.m. will be made
the following work day.

Apply PERM A PLY base ply with 2" (min. 1'"1 side laps and
end laps, Mechanically secure maximum 9'" o.c. at side laps and
maximum 18'" o.c. on two lines 11.13'" from each edge (staggered).
Mechanical securement using mechanical fasteners recommended
by the deck manufacturer. large-head Simplex nails (minimum
''A.'' head diameter), the Berryfast Tapefast system, or the Senco
Fastening system may be used on wood or plywood decks only.
To minimize wrinkles and buckles allow enough time for base ply
to relax unrolled prior to attachment,
Application of Plies
Embed two plies of PERMA PLY in shingle fashion (starter sheets
required), lapping 19'" into uniform solid mappings of hot bitumen,
using 23.45 Ib/100 ft2 per ply. Starter plies should be cut to dimen.
sions so 8S to preclude coincident side laps to the base ply. Plies
may be left exposed up to six months without surfacing.
Application of Mineml Surface
Embed nominal 12-ft. lengths of PERM A CAP (lS-ft. in Area Ill)
with r' (min, l"j side and end laps into a uniform solid mopping
of hot bitumen. using 20-30 Ib/l00 ft~ PERMA CAP end laps shall
be staggered minimum 3 ft.
, 33-NC and 32.NC are recommended over lightweight concrete in the
following states: Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama. Louisiana,
Mississippi, Florida, California Area Ill, and Arizona Area Ill.
I 31-NC is not recommended for application over lightweight concrete.
J Base Ply-may be specified PERMA PLY No. 28. PERMA PLY-IV. PERMA
PlY.6, or PERMA PlY-R. If PERMA PLY No. 28 base sheet not used. base
ply used must be the same as the ply felts.

General
Note
All general instructions contained in the General Requirements
section of Owens-Corning Built-Up Roofing Products Reference and
Application Guide, Pub. No. 5-RW-13121 shall be considered part of
this specification.
Drainage
Roof decks must be graded to drain all water freely. Drains shaH be
sufficient in number and size to assure rapid elimination of water
from the roof surface.
Nailing
Ply felts must be back nailed on inclines exceeding 2'" per foot.
On slopes between 2" and 3'" per foot. back nailing shall not exceed
8 foot on center. On slopes greater than 3" per foot. back nailing
shall not exceed 48'" on center. Felts are to run parallel to the incline
and must be secured 1S'" in from the back edge of the feh. Each
nail must be covered by succeeding plies. High temperature areas
may require nailing on lower slopes.
