RE: Property belonging to Hazel Toftdahl
1566 Laura St., Springfield,OR 97477
To Whom It May Concern:
As Power Of Attorney for Hazel Toftdahl, I would like to speak to you in
her behalf. Mrs. Toftdahl is 79 years old and because of poor and failing
health is no longer able to care fo~ herself. As recommended by her
doctor, she is now a resident of Adult Foster. Care. The State of Oregon
is will to provide for her care, medicine, doctor, hospital and any other
needs she may have. The--oi1e-h-urdl"e we have to overcome is the settling of
her financial affairs. The State of Oregon has requested that all assets'
be sold, all bills be paid and the remaining funds be set in trust to
assist in Mrs. Toftdahls care. I am requesting that this council help,
Mrs. Toftdahl get over the hurdle that is making things difficult for her.
~
The problem is that if we don't get approval for the sale of, her property
it will go into foreclosure, because of it being 4 months from the last
payment. The mortgage holder and her creditors would then forch her into
bankrupcy. Do to the time involved in the process of law, this could take
six months to a year. If this happens, who would provide for her care,
as well as her medical needs during this period of time? She has no where
to go if help is not provided. ' We appeal to you, not only I, but the'
cummunity, her family and her friends in the area she lived in, to see the
importance of approving the needed permit for the existing mobile home to
remain on the property as long as it is maintained in such a manner required
by the City of Springfield.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration in this matter. We are
looking forward to receiving your approval in this difficult situation.
