Rollie Korinek, 2114 "L" Street, reVlewea nlS letter ot Marcn 31, 1987, regarding the agreement for Hazel Toftdah1 at 1566 Laura Street. Mr. Korinek requested they be able to sell the ~obi1e home and lot to the prospective buyer. Mr. Korinek presented a petition signed by nearby residents requesting the mobile home be allowed to remain on the lot through future occupancy or . owner changes. (See Correspondence and Petitions). Jack Ropp, Pastor of the Church of God provided more personal background on Mrs. Toftdah1 asking that the request be granted. Following Council discussion Councilor Larson suggested a public hearing be held and indicated she would like to have a guarantee that the other structure on the property would not be used for a dwelling. It was moved by Councilor Beyer, with a second by Councilor Morrisette to direct the staff to continue the use specified in the contract for as long as the unit was habitable under the housing code. Following discussion it was consensus that intent would be to allow the use under proper guidelines, to be suggested by the staff. Following Council discussion the motion was restated by Councilor Beyer, with a second by Councilor Morrisette to direct staff to prepare appropriate amendments and language to the agreement currently with the applicant that would carry out the Council's intent to allow Mrs. Toftdahl to sell the property and continue the use of the existing unit. The motion passed unanimously. Mayor Gorman indicated that action would be formalized at the next meeting. Chris Matson, 225 "F" Street, urged the Council "not to resubmit the PllP plan to' the voters. Mr. Matson read from a prepared statement outlining his concerns for the existing plan. Councilor Larson chal- lenged Mr. Matson to a series of debates and requested that Mr. Matson indicate in those debates the faulty areas of the plan. . Councilor Larson indicated she would be in touch with Mr. Matson to make arrangements for the debate. 2. i.J~ I;" .r:: It was moved by Councilor Larson, with a second by Councilor Morrisette to continue the meeting past 9:30 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. 3. Rainbow Water District. Tim Hanley, Superintendent of the Rainbow Water District gave a slide presentation and discussed the areas of service and benefits Rainbow Water District provides to the City of Springfield and outlying areas. r;;- } p ~ , . \ , " '. . .
