CROSSING CONSTRUCTION AND P21085-2; LED MONUMENT SIGN
ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt or reject the following resolution:
A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P21085; MAIN STREET PEDESTRIAN CROSSING CONSTRUCTION AND P21058-2; LED
MONUMENT SIGN
ISSUE STATEMENT:
The work on these projects has been completed. All work associated with project
P21085, Main Street Pedestrian Crossing Construction was completed by Brown Contracting, Inc. The LED Monument Sign was installed by L.R. Brabham, Inc.
under project P21085-2 LED Monument Sign. The final inspection, paperwork and approval have been completed by City Staff. The Projects are now ready for City Council to formally accept the work.

DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL
IMPACT:
These projects included the installation of a pedestrian crossing at 35th and 41st
Streets on Main Street to include ADA ramps, islands, striping, Rectangular Rapid
Flasher Beacon assemblies and monument sign. This installation is part of the implementation of pedestrian crossings called out as part of the 2010 Main Street
Safety Study.
These projects have been completed with the final cost of $286,341.03. Funding
for this project was provided from the ODOT Bike and Pedestrian Program. All work done under this contract has been completed and inspected by the City Engineer and found to be satisfactory.

Acceptance
WHEREAS, work on the improvements described below have been fully completed and
have been duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield:
P21085; MAIN STREET PEDESTRIAN CROSSING CONSTRUCTION AND P21085-2; LED MONUMENT SIGN
WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the contracts
now on file in the City Recorder’s office; and,
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that these improvement
projects be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the
City of Springfield.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1) The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for future
maintenance the above-described projects and accepts said improvements from
the contractors involved.
2) This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Council and approval by the
Mayor.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, this 20th day of
March, 2017.
