Dear Mr Brundage
Artisan Englneenng has reviewed the footing construction at the single family residential
remodel for the Dale and Susan Bryant at 6585 Main Street In Springfield I understand that this
review IS required by the City of Springfield BUilding official
The drawings were prepared by Markel Design of Eugene, Oregon The current design requires
that the new footings undermine the eXisting unrelnforced footIngs It IS acceptable to
undermine the eXisting footing In two foot strips at five feet on center Once the stripS have
cured the remaining three foot strip of sOil will be removed and replaced with concrete (see
attached sketches) All debris and water shall be removed prior to placement of concrete All
footings are to bear on competent native SOIls
