In several locations where our survey indicated st,eel in the center of the wall, tips of deformed steel bars were visible at cut-outs In the sill plate The visible bars were both #4 and #5. There also appeared to be horizontal steel every 32" in all walls surveyed 1 was unable to visually identify the size of the horizontal steel without destroying the wall According to our design, the rear wall reinforcing stcel should have been at least #4 bars @ 16" o C vertically and #4 bars @ 32" 0 C. horizontal, The middle wall was to contain #4 bars @ 32" a.c. vertically and horizontally .;;;~.
